From a small business to a globally active family enterprise

Our history - Pioneer from the beginning

In 1948, Josef Brucha founded his production company for insulation materials in Michelhausen in Lower Austria. In 1950, Josef Brucha was the first insulator to pass the master craftsman's examination in Austria – and thus laid the foundation for today's BRUCHA GmbH. Over the decades, insulation materials and technologies have changed. What has remained to this day is our enthusiasm for the insulation trade and the innovative spirit of our company founder, which is passed on from generation to generation in the family business.

1960

In the 1960s, Styropor (EPS) production begins. In 1968, Josef Brucha hands over the company, which has 50 employees at that time, to his son Josef Brucha.

1994

In 1994, not only the company headquarters are further expanded. We establish the WEST branch in Nenzing (Vorarlberg) and build up a sales team to serve customers throughout the provinces.

1998

In 1998, the first continuously producing double belt line goes into operation. The company already employs 320 people. From 2001 onwards, steps towards internationalisation follow. Exports to Germany and all CEE countries begin.

2011

2011 BRUCHA is market leader in Austria. We produce and assemble BRUCHA panels, cold storage doors and gates with over 600 employees. The export share is over 50 percent. In 2015, we opened the south branch in Großwilfersdorf (Styria). A customer competence centre, an assembly base and a large warehouse outlet are created.

2017

In 2017, we start up a punching and bending line for the production of accessories for cold storage house construction. In 2018, the founding of the BRUCHA Corporation in the USA, based in Denver Colorado, is an important milestone for us. 2019 we open the laser cutting & welding robot system.

2020

In 2020, we conquer the Asian market. We establish our subsidiary in Singapore and start sales in New Zealand. 2022 starts the series production at the robot-assisted panel press center.
